Dear friends and colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 26th congress of the European Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery in Budapest in September 2025.
The ESSFN was founded fifty-five years ago with the mission to investigate the etiology and mechanisms of diseases of the nervous system, and to develop and teach functional and stereotactic neurosurgical treatment methods.
In half a century we built a large network in which currently more than 400 members from fifty-five countries participate. We gather during our fantastic biannual conferences to share our experience and learn from our colleagues. The successful last edition in Stockholm 2023 is still fresh in our minds.
Since then, the turmoil in the world has only increased further and many of our basic human values and needs are under threat continuously. As a scientific society, regardless of race, religion and politics, we demonstrate that achievements only come about when we let international understanding and alliance prevail, to the benefit of our patients.
For the upcoming 26th ESSFN conference we return to the hometown of one of the fourteen founding fathers of the ESSFN, the beautiful city of Budapest. Save the dates! Let us all meet there in September 2025 to celebrate our friendship and foster ongoing and future collaboration.

Kedves Kollégák!
A 9. Gyermeksürgősségi Kongresszusnak idén Nyíregyháza ad otthont, 2025. szeptember 25-27. között, a Váci Mihály Kulturális Központban. Nyíregyháza nemcsak a régió meghatározó egészségügyi központja, de különleges abban a tekintetben is, hogy 1982-ben az országban elsőként szerveződött Sürgősségi osztály a Megyei Kórházban, majd 1992-ben a gyermekosztályon ”Sürgősségi gyermekellátó egység, kezdte meg munkáját szintén úttörőként.
A tudományos program reményeink szerint ismét sokszínű, a sürgősségi gyermekellátás minden szegmensét felölelő témákat tárgyal, melyben helyet kapnak a társszakmák is.
A kongresszus fő témái:
- az újszülöttek, fiatal csecsemők sürgősségi ellátása
- 14-18 éves korosztály ellátásával kapcsolatban felmerülő problémák (pszichiátria, nőgyógyászat, toxikológia stb.)
- infektológia – (régi új ragályos betegségek, járvány kezelés a különböző ellátási szinteken, lázas állapot 3 hónapos kor alatt)
- betegirányítás a gyermeksürgősségi ellátásban az új ügyeleti rendszer tükrében
- mesterséges intelligencia (van helye a sürgősségi ellátásban? A jövő útja?)
- gyermeksebészeti ellátás helyzete ügyeleti időben
A hagyományokhoz híven természetesen most sem hiányozhatnak a gyakorlatra fókuszáló workshopok (POCUS, koraszülött, újszülött szülőszobai ellátása, kommunikációs technikák problémás serdülőkkel, szituációs gyakorlat)
A szakmai program mellett érdemes időt szánni a város nevezetességeinek felfedezésére is. A Nyíregyházi Állatpark Európa egyik legszebb és legérdekesebb állatkertje. A gyönyörű környezetű Sóstó és a Múzeumfalu is megér egy kirándulást. A kongresszusnak otthont adó Kulturális Központ és a rendezvény résztvevőinek szálláshelyei a belvárosban vannak, így a város szívében található Kossuth tér impozáns épületeivel, szobraival ideális helyszín egy kellemes sétára.
A kongresszus remek alkalom szakmai ismereteink bővítésére, tapasztalatcserére, kapcsolatépítésre, miközben élvezhetjük Nyíregyháza egyedi hangulatát. Azért, hogy magunk után ne hagyjunk még nagyobb ökológiai lábnyomot, a kongresszus minden információja online elérhető az Ementin honlapján.

We want to get your attention to the Austrian Symposium on Dialysis Access and Central Venous Catheters which will take place for the 5th time in Vienna 5th-6th of December 2025.
It is an interdisciplinary, multiprofessional meeting where all dialysis-relevant stakeholders (nephrology, shunt surgery, dialysis care, radiology, patients, industry) meet. It is therefore an unprecedented opportunity to get to know state of the art treatment/diagnostic methods as well as innovations on this field.
After all 4 previous symposia were very well received with over 200 participants each, we have decided to continue organizing this meeting. This year, we also decided to open the symposium to more neighboring countries besides Germany, Italy and Switzerland to give more colleagues the opportunity to be part of this meeting as a multiprofessional access platform with excellent international speakers and many training programs. This is one of the very few meetings worldwide offering such masterclasses.

The proven concept of the 2-day conference will be retained: The scientific sessions with lectures by world-renowned experts will take place on the first day (05.12.2025) at the Hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Vienna Schönbrunn. On the second day of the congress (December 6, 2025), we will offer several master classes/“hands-on” workshops on various topics, which will take place either in the congress hotel or at the Anatomical Institute of the Medical University of Vienna, as these are courses on human specimens.
To be in Vienna during the Advent season will be even more special due to our venue location next to Schönbrunn allowing visits at the beautiful Christmas market before or after the meeting.
Please be aware that most of the talks on the 1st day are in German (see program), but the workshops and masterclasses are mainly independent of language - based on their training/hands-on character and our international tutors.
Slots are limited on both days and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
