A Karolinska Intézet Nobel-díjat odaítélő közgyűlése úgy döntött, hogy a 2025-ös orvosi-élettani díjat megosztva két amerikai (Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell) és egy japán kutatónak (Szakagucsi Simonnak) ítéli oda a perifériás immuntoleranciával kapcsolatos felfedezéseikért.

A perifériás immuntolerancia szervezetünk azon képessége, amely megakadályozza, hogy az immunrendszerünk saját sejtjeinket támadja meg. Az idei orvosi Nobel-díj három díjazottja annak megértéséhez járult hozzá munkájával, hogy megértsük, miként dönti el az immunrendszer, melyik sejteket kell védelmeznie, és melyikeket kell megtámadnia.

What is EVs in Immunity?

ISEV is proud to announce the societies’ first conference focusing on EVs and immunity. This conference will bring thought leaders from various fields within Immunology and Extracellular Vesicle research together in order to address the key challenges at the interface of EV research and immunity. This conference will provide a unique forum for listening to the latest data from thought leaders, sharing new discoveries and exchanging ideas, setting up new collaborations, and identifying important future directions and research needs.

ISEV is proud to announce the societies’ first conference focusing on EVs and immunity. This conference will bring thought leaders from various fields within Immunology and Extracellular Vesicle research together in order to address the key challenges at the interface of EV research and immunity. This conference will provide a unique forum for listening to the latest data from thought leaders, sharing new discoveries and exchanging ideas, setting up new collaborations, and identifying important future directions and research needs.

Furthermore, this meeting will provide the opportunity to initiate the activities of an ISEV “Special Interest Group” (SIG) dedicated to Immunity and EVs/NVEPs. We really hope that you will be as excited as us to attend this meeting, and possibly get a chance to become an active member of this SIG.

As a reminder, the symposium is confidential to foster new ideas and unpublished data sharing. We also would like to emphasize that this symposium is foreseen to develop into the reference conference on EVs in Immunity. There will be numerous opportunities for all of us to share our results or ideas in various focus areas, such as cancer, infectious diseases, central nervous system, cardiovascular diseases, developmental diseases, and various other relevant physiological and pathological conditions.

3 Symposium of Hungarian EV Researchers

We cordially invite all those interested in EV research to the third event of the Symposium of Hungarian EV researchers, which will be held on November 21, 2025 (Friday), in Semmelweis University, NET Building (Budapest, Hungary).
The aim of the symposium is to provide an opportunity for Hungarian EV research groups to present their results and to interact. As EV research itself, the symposium is highly interdisciplinary. We welcome anyone from groups active in basic and applied research as well as from and industrial partners and from government agencies. This year we will host representatives of the Polish National EV Society which will also provide opportunities to expend our regional scientific network as well. Due to the expected large number of non-Hungarian speakers, the symposium will be held in English.
Venue: Semmelweis University, NET Building (H-1089 Budapest, Nagyvárad tér 4.)
