A korábbi hagyományoknak megfelelően az egyik kiemelt téma a hazai tbc-s helyzet lesz, amelyen belül külön foglalkozunk a multidrog rezisztens megbetegedések problémakörével, valamint a hajléktalan tbc-sek kiemelésével, kezelésével és gondozásával. Mindhárom előadásra e témákat jól ismerő, országosan elismert előadókat sikerült meghívnunk.

A másik központi téma a pneumoniák aktuális kérdései. E témakörben az Országos Korányi Tbc és Pulmonológiai Intézet professzora, a DEOC Tüdőklinika vezetője és a pneumoniák kezelésében ugyancsak nagy jártassággal rendelkező munkatársa vállalt előadást.

Purpose and Meaning of the Conference
The improvement and development of chemistry, engineering and medical technology, and integrated laboratory automation system and information system has been changing the form and content of recent clinical laboratory. Auto analyzers, transportation systems and computing systems respectively have become necessary components for integrated clinical laboratory system, and the content and trend of clinical laboratory for medical care come to dramatically change.

Cherry Blossom Symposium concerns of the present situation, problem and prospect of automatization and robotization, and considers how clinical laboratory should be. The worldwide attendants such as a doctor, clinical technologist, researcher, system engineer, and manufacturer of instrument and reagent, who actively work at the front, will come and join, so it can be the unique chance for manufacturers to directly hear what the people concerned to clinical laboratory in the world think and what they are going to do. The improvement and development of chemistry, engineering and medical technology, and integrated laboratory automation system and information system has been changing the form and content of recent clinical laboratory. Auto analyzers, transportation systems and computing systems respectively have become necessary components for integrated clinical laboratory system, and the content and trend of clinical laboratory for medical care come to dramatically change.

Cherry Blossom Symposium concerns of the present situation, problem and prospect of automatization and robotization, and considers how clinical laboratory should be. The worldwide attendants such as a doctor, clinical technologist, researcher, system engineer, and manufacturer of instrument and reagent, who actively work at the front, will come and join, so it can be the unique chance for manufacturers to directly hear what the people concerned to clinical laboratory in the world think and what they are going to do. Assessment and Interpretation of Infant Lung Function
Course Description
This course is designed to provide the participant with an essential theoretical, physiological and practical basis for assessing lung function in infants and for interpreting results both from the published literature and from tests in individual infants. Contemporary equipment will be on display throughout the course, with practical demonstrations of calibration and data collection for the most commonly used infant lung function techniques, based on standards recently developed by the ERS/ATS Task Force (Stocks et al, Eur Resp J 2000/2001).
