| A klinikai kutatások egyértelműen alátámasztják a metakognitív terápia (Wells, 1994) hatékonyságát a terápia rezisztens depressziós és szorongásos zavarok valamint a rekurrens állapotok esetében. Jó klinikai tapasztalatok vannak nemcsak a hipochondriasis és a krónikus kényszerbetegségek kezelésében alkalmazott metakognitív módszerekkel kapcsolatosan, de a szomatizációs kórképek kezelésében is egyre jobb eredmények születnek, de ezeket a módszereket nemcsak a klinikai súlyosságú zavarok kezelésében, hanem minden olyan esetben lehet alkalmazni, ahol a ruminációnak és aggodalmaskodásnak nagy szerepe van a pszichés distressz fennmaradásában. |
