Dear Fellow Rheumatologists in Central Europe and Beyond!

One year from now, we warmly invite you to the Heart of Europe, to the Queen of the Blue Danube — Budapest — to join us for a truly memorable winter Central European Congress in Rheumatology (CECR2026).

The CECR was established in 1996. This biennial, three-day conference presents a unique kaleidoscope of rheumatology research in English from seven nations: Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

The Congress will follow its traditional format, featuring 90-minute sessions organized by participating nations. These seven sessions with dedicated topics are further enriched by presentations from the Pediatric Rheumatology, Young Rheumatologist, and Industry Partner sessions. In addition, an unlimited electronic poster session will be available, welcoming contributions from participants worldwide.

The venue is set on the serene and picturesque Margaret Island.

Evenings in Budapest are full of charm. Enjoy a warm roasted chestnut or mulled wine as you explore the city, skate at the historic 1870 open-air City Park Ice Rink, or visit the award-winning Christmas Market called Advent Basilica. Prefer indoor experiences? Treat yourself to a concert at the Liszt Academy or an opera at the Hungarian State Opera House. The organizers have also prepared a delightful evening program for all — a surprise awaits!

We look forward to welcoming you to Budapest and to an inspiring Congress.

44th European Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases Meeting (ESPID 2026) will take place 1-5 June 2026 in Bologna & Online.

The ESPID Meeting gives centre-stage to cutting-edge research, puts a spotlight on the latest clinical practices, and provides amazing career opportunities for those interested in paediatric infectious diseases. ESPID 2026 participants will meet others with similar interests, establish collaborations, and form new relationships. Together we can improve child health!

On behalf of the Local Organising and the International Scientific Committees, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the 44th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID), which will take place from 1 to 5 June 2026 in the beautiful and historic city of Bologna, Italy.
ESPID 2026 will bring together our global community at a pivotal moment for child health and infectious diseases. This year’s meeting will focus on a topic of growing urgency: Climate Change and Emerging Infectious Diseases. We will explore how environmental shifts are shaping the epidemiology of infections, challenging our clinical practices, and calling for innovative responses in research, prevention, and care.

Our scientific programme will offer a rich array of sessions across clinical paediatric infectious diseases, microbiology, immunology, genomics, vaccines, epidemiology, public health, and, of course, the complex interplay between climate change and infectious disease patterns. We hope this theme will inspire both scientific exchange and new multidisciplinary collaborations.

We warmly encourage you to submit your research, contribute your expertise, and join us in this important conversation. ESPID remains the foremost forum for advancing the science and care of paediatric infectious diseases and for building a future where children’s health can be protected in a changing world.

Beyond the meeting halls, Bologna will welcome you with its rich history, timeless porticoes, lively culture, and renowned cuisine. We are preparing a warm and engaging social programme to complement the scientific experience and foster connections among colleagues and friends.

We look forward to welcoming you to Bologna and to a truly meaningful ESPID 2026 where science, dialogue, and community come together for the health of our children and the planet.
