Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to the 14th Central European Congress of Rheumatology.
After eighteen years, this traditional biannual congress is going to be, for the second time, hosted by the Slovenian Medical Association – Section of Rheumatology. In keeping with the tradition of the CECR, the rheumatologists from the member countries and distinguished international speakers are going to present and discuss their research and clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatologic conditions. The clinically based sessions are going to focus on burning topics chosen by the member scientific societies.
For the first time in the CECR’s history, there will be a dedicated pediatric rheumatology session, a session dedicated to transition of patients from pediatric to adult rheumatologists, and an opportunity for patient organizations to take part. This time, the meeting will be held at Cankarjev dom in the centre of the lovely Christmassy Slovenian capital Ljubljana. Cankarjev dom is a cultural and congress centre named after one of the greatest Slovenian novelists and overlooks the national Parliament.
Alongside the thought-provoking scientific program, we will certainly find time for exchanging views and ideas, successful local practices as well as socializing, strengthening friendships and strategizing further optimization of the delivery of care to our patients in the Central Europe.

Részvételére, munkatársaival együtt, feltétlenül számítunk! Örülnénk, ha esetismertetéssel gazdagítaná programunkat. A tudományos programot, a korábbi évekhez hasonlóan, egy plenáris előadásokat tartalmazó szekció előzi meg, melyet az ebéd után követnek az esetbemutatások. Ennek megfelelően a tervezett program a következőképpen alakul:

The second Excellence in Paediatrics conference will take place in London on 2-4 December, 2010. Excellence in Paediatrics is an international annual conference, presenting the latest, most insightful and authoritative overview of key developments in paediatrics by outstanding speakers.
The Scientific Committee of Excellence in Paediatrics is mostly comprised of the editors of internationally acclaimed Paediatric Journals and Books published by Wiley-Blackwell.
The scientific programme of the conference aims at meeting the needs of general and specialist paediatricians and general practitioners. Furthermore it will be enhanced by the special sessions organised by:
• The Cochrane Child Health Field and the European Paediatric Association (EPA/UNEPSA) on Evidence Based Medicine and respiratory topics.
• The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the Harvard Medical School & Children’s Hospital Boston and the University Hospital of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine Vienna will each organise special sessions on selected topics.

On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is our distinct pleasure to announce the 1st edition of the Heart, Vessels & Diabetes European Conference to be held in the capital city of Portugal, Lisbon, from 9 to 11 December 2010.
Our world is facing an epidemic of diabetes and obesity, a population at high risk of cardiovascular complications. It is therefore necessary to promote in depth discussions and collaborations amongst all the professionals concerned by the management of these patients: cardiologists, diabetologists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, neurologists
and internists.
Our ambition is that the Heart, Vessels & Diabetes Conference becomes the European reference on both cardiovascular and diabetes related issues by the creation of a unified forum where all specialists will attend common sessions and share their experience. The scientific programme will include lectures, debates, clinical case presentations as well as industry symposia. European experts will discuss the latest developments of clinical trials and clinical research and will examine their implications for daily practice.
This event of very high scientific standard with a panel of European key opinion leaders will gather a large audience of about 2,000 practitioners in cardiology, diabetes, lipids, blood pressure and related fields. As you will read within this preliminary programme, the members of the Scientific Committee are among some of the most prestigious and renowned cardiologists, diabetologists and endocrinologists in order to ensure the highest scientific level to the sessions.
